SCF first opened its doors for business in 1992.
Security Consultants Financial, Inc., was our original name — a mouthful, to say the least. Over time, we shortened it to “SCF.”
SCF has been independently owned and operated by the same owner — our CEO — since we opened our doors for business twenty eight years ago. For a quarter century, we have focused on thorough risk management, common-sense compliance, and advisor-minded due diligence processes, and we plan to build on that legacy well into the future.
Our home office is located in the heart of central California’s San Joaquin Valley — the city of Fresno. As the fifth largest city in California, Fresno sits approximately 200 miles north of Los Angeles and 170 miles south of the state’s capital, Sacramento.
Our clearing firm and primary custodian is Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions®, formerly National Financial Services, LLC, (NFS), a Fidelity Investments® company, which services millions of accounts and represents nearly $3 trillion in assets. We also have custodial relationships with Pershing Advisor Solutions, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services, and TD Ameritrade Institutional for advisors with assets already on those platforms.
From our boutique culture to our a la carte technology and seamless transition process, we are unlike any other firm in the industry. But it’s our five-star service that really sets us apart. We offer the high-touch, intimate feel of a boutique broker-dealer, but also offer products, services, and technology that rival the industry’s largest firms.
At other firms, advisors are often treated as numbers. At SCF, we work diligently to build a strong relationship with you. We will get to know your practice closely so we can provide you with the best solution every time you call. And when you call the home office, you will never get stuck in an automated phone queue. Instead, one of our cross-trained, capable staff members will take your call and work with you to address every need.
Technology is a significant component of every financial practice. From our proprietary Blue Diamond Plus platform to our CRM interface and paperless workflow environment, you will have every tool you need to manage your entire book of business — and scale your book without limits. At the same time, we don’t force you into an all-or-nothing plan. Our a la carte setup lets you pick and choose exactly what you need.
We believe our transition process is the best in the business. While other firms’ transition processes place the burden of transition on the advisor and can drag out for months, we essentially do most the work for you — in as little as 2 days! Our proprietary strategy streamlines the process for you — literally preparing every one of your clients’ forms and mailing them on your behalf.
Absolutely! We not only allow you to use a DBA — we encourage it. We understand the significance of branding your financial practice within your specific market. At SCF, we empower our financial advisors to run their business the way they choose, and supporting your unique brand is one of our priorities. We’re here to help you grow your book of business.
Our number one priority is to support you in every area of your practice. We will give you access to top-notch marketing templates and resources. We encourage and equip you to build your own brand and work under your own DBA name. And through our strategic vendor relationships and our own Kimberlite Libraries and Resource Center, you will have access to a vast selection of tools, resources, and ideas for you to grow your practice.
We are completely EIA-friendly! EIA commissions are paid directly to you from carriers. And best of all, we give you credit toward your securities production for any EIA business you write, which can potentially bump you up to a higher payout level.
Absolutely not! We do not require the sale of proprietary products and you will not ever have to meet quotas for a specific product. At SCF, you have complete freedom to run your practice your way, offering the products and services that best serve your clients’ needs.
Weekly. You will be paid next Friday for any commission funds we receive by this Friday. Please note that some carriers and clearing firms do not pay weekly, so commission payments will depend on their commission schedules.
We host a firm wide conference for our advisors and representatives in the spring of every year. The location changes each year, but the schedule is always loaded with industry insights and presentations that add value to your financial practice. Attendance is complimentary for advisors who meet a certain production level. We also host webinars throughout the year that provide training and introduce you to new products, technologies, and strategies.
We understand that every advisor’s situation is unique. We will analyze your practice and work with you to design a partnership that will best serve you and your clients. No matter how high or low your production level, you will always receive SCF’s Diamond Standard of service.
