SCF Cares: Helping Typhoon Victims in the Philippines

Boutique Broker-Dealer/RIA Introduces National Emergency Relief Campaign

Fresno-based broker-dealer & RIA raises funds for Philippines typhoon victims

SCF Securities launched Wednesday a national campaign to raise funds for the victims of the Philippines typhoon, which killed more than 1800 and injured almost 3000.

The initial plan was to raise funds through a soup lunch fundraiser at the company’s headquarters. As interest grew outside the home office staff, however, the company decided to expand its fundraising efforts into a nationwide campaign, inviting its financial advisors and their branch offices to participate also.

“We’ve always been concerned with giving back to our communities and people in need,” said Randy Meadows, president and CEO of SCF Securities. “We’ve all developed a deep concern for the people of the Philippines and we knew we needed to help. So we’re doing everything we can, not just in our home office but in our branches across the nation.”

Meadows has committed SCF funds to match up to $2,500 in total donations.

The firm has set up a webpage specifically for the typhoon relief campaign. “We wanted to make it easy for advisors and their families to make a donation,” said Meadows. “All donations can be made on our website in as little as 30 seconds.” The public can contribute, learn more about the campaign, and see a running total of the funds raised on the company’s website at http://www.scfsecurities.com/charity.
